Phoenix Mountain Ski Patrol
Welcome to a page dedicated to those that keeps us safe on the hill.
The Phoenix Mountain Ski Patrol Program employs paid staff members and works with two (2) volunteer groups, consisting of the Canadian Ski Patrol and an internal volunteer ski patrol to assist paid patrol. Each patrol designation requires training and/or experience with advanced first aid. We encourage our paid staff and volunteer patrol to train and practice first aid/incident scenarios together to be a cohesive team of first aid assistance to our guests.
Phoenix Mountain Alpine Ski Society offers a very generous volunteer incentive package for qualified skiers/riders who want to join our internal patrol or our Canadian Ski Patrol. Volunteer patrollers must be able to ski/ride all of the terrain features on Phoenix Mountain in all snow conditions.
In 2017-18 we implemented a “Helping Hands” team to encourage first aiders who have OFA 1 with Transport Endorsement to assist our paid patrol with volunteer first aid help. This team is part of our volunteer incentive program. When an OFA 1 with Transport shadows our paid EMR patroller, they receive that day free plus a free day of their choice.
We welcome new members to our Phoenix Mountain Ski Patrol. We have on-going recruitment to our internal volunteer patrol. Each autumn, we host a Canadian Ski Patrol Advanced First Aid course and on-hill training with Ogopogo CSP Zone based out of Big White Resort.
